Hey everyone, heading to Osaka for the first time to visit family that is teaching english there. What should I do for fun? How hard will it be for me to pick up some SOJ parts for the LGT? Any suggestions for fun/car part sourcing is greatly appreciated.

Hit up Amerika-mura/ Triangle Park, the little area that all the cool kids hang out at and try to imitate American culture. it's awesome, plus there are about a million clubs, bars, hang out places there too, give or take. It's a wicked cruisin' spot at night too on Friday and Saturday night.Osaka castle is a must for the real cultural aspect. It's been eight years for me so I'm a little rusty on Osaka but just google and you'll find a ton of great sites promoting the city. The best people in Japan are in Osaka IMHO.OH, and if you are a fan of Super-Street style tuner shops, one of the best ones in Japan, Signal Auto, are there. Top Secret as well, IIRC.Have a blast!

One word: Sumo! A couple more words: Saki, sushi, sashimi, Kyoto bowl, Kirin lager.

All that good stuff is a given, but it's pretty hard to find good sushi there that won't cost you a fortune. However the Ramen is the pride of Japan. I lived off those big tasty bowls of noodles. The Osaka people are fanatical about their ramen.Oh, and try not to 'get together' with any of the students that your family member teaches. It's nothing but headaches. Same goes for the secretaries at the school.

Wife is coming so the "getting together" issue wont be a problem. I definitely want to check out some of the tuner shops when I am there. Hopefully they will be cool with me not knowing any Japanese. But I guess they get lots of stupid American's drooling over their cars. I am going to see if I can find the addresses of a couple shops ahead of time so I have an idea where to go.

Thanks for the ideas.

But it won't work with US Games !

You should go to the Pig and Whistle though, one of the best pubs in town.
