Hey everyone,
Like most of the new people here I've been a lurker on this board for a while now. I was originally planning on waiting for the '06 model year so I could save up more of a down payment... BUT I made the mistake of test driving the car last week. That just about killed what ever will-power I had left and right now it looks like I'll be buying a Silver or Royal Blue Auto GT Sedan in about six weeks.

I'd love to get a manual but the traffic in the Baltimore/DC area is hellacious... but the new auto is a good compromise I think. As a little about me I am an IT Specialist for the US Government and a Ski Instructor at a nearby PA Ski Area.

Traffic is not a viable exuse. Either way good luck with your purchase when you go through with it

Yes I know what you mean about going and taking one for a test drive, mighty tempting although I dont believe there will be that much difference in the MY05 to the MY06. Besides most of the upgrades will be cosmetic.

Dont worry about the fight between EAT & MT, you have to chose what is going to be the best for you. Im sure you will have fun regardless of the model type you get. Best of luck with the purchase, cant wait to see the pics.

I want to know what a "viable exuse" is???

Viable excuse is no left leg. Theres plenty of traffic where I'm from and the clutch in this car is so light and easy traffic should not be the cop out to decide for the auto.

I'm on the same boat as you. Ever since test driving the LGT, it's all I think about :( haha

I sit thru LA traffic all the time and shifting doesnt bother me... but it's a pain when I need to use the phone or I want to eat =P

60 miles of daily commuting in the DC/Baltimore Metro area will kill any measure of fun associated with a stick shift. Monday - Friday I am lucky to break 55 mph, and my normal speed is between 0 - 35. Once I can afford a sport car for the weekends I'll be happy to buy a MT.

I sit in Houston traffic on I-10 everyday. MT is no pain at all, in fact I'm so accustomed, I don't really even think about driving MT....it just happens...

Well, I put a deposit down. They're giving me about 600 over invoice and $1700 more for my trade in then any other dealer so things are looking good. No manuals on the lot, so that made the choice very easy.
