Melbourne GT Drive - January 2006

OK guys - why don't we have a drive day in late January when we can all show off our new (or not so new) GTs?

Some ideas (and I'll have a 6 week old so no Black Spur or GOR votes from me!):

- GOR / Black Spur - good for driving but not so great for passengers
- Meet at Docklands*, drive down Beach Road to Mentone Pub to have lunch
- Meet at Docklands*, drive over to Williamstown for lunch
- Meet at Docklands*, drive down to Geelong waterfront for lunch

* or some other mutually agreeable central place

Any other thoughts? With a 6 week old (he/she arrives tomorrow :D) I'm not that keen for a 4 hour drive plus I figure we'd all rather just cruise and then have a bite for lunch?

Thinking the weekend of the 21st / 22nd assuming we've taken delivery of the cars of course. Otherwise we'll all be standing around admiring the neat customisation job Rob has done on his...

p.s. Cheeky idea - we all do a cruise to Ringwood for Rob to work his tint magic....

1 hand up here for the cruise as long as is the weekend before 23/1/2006 as i will be out of the country after that date.

I've just done a whole redo on someone "Professing" to be a "Tint" specialist.
Poor young fella got almost physically abused after being back 3 times with nothing but grief.
Got his money back at last and he was rapt with my job.

Darren, I think U have some fantastic ideas re the drive day that is for sure and will give a good opportunity to FINALLY meet up which is great.
If not Jan as a few cant get there, I think Feb would be a great idea.

What does everyone else think of Darren's suggestions?

No worries Adam...can do.
With the BB trip, I'd prefer to wait to include the drive event in the WRX Club magazine which should be out in Feb.
So I'll look closely at at a Sunday date.
The venue at the summit is working on adding a new outdoor verandah this summer that looks down into the valley out from the bar. Hopefully by then it should be completed.

Rob and I agreed yesterday that if the weather is good next Sunday we'll try and organise a combined "drop in" on the WRX Club day...

They want any attendees to be intending to join so let us know if you think a WRX subscription might be in your plans.
