Just stop by Maita Subaru in Sacramento to pick up an oil filter and crush washer. Parts guy tells me that have a deal, buy 3 filters get 1 free. 4 filters and 4 crush washer + tax came out to $27.69. Forgot to ask how long this deal is for.

Wow that is a lot still. I was at Subaru last weekend and bought 3 filters and washers and the total after tax was $19.07

Guess they are a lot cheaper out here?

Senator Subaru on Florin Road has the same deal. I think most dealerships offer this if you ask. I used to get the same deal from Serra Nissan.

Crush washer or gasket that goes on the drain plug. You are suppose to replace it each time.

hmm.. really? I just had my oil change at Maita at 2000 miles and saw that coupon too. They didnt do a free car wash that they originally put down.

taking mine to Firestone next time. I wonder if they would replace the washer.

Tokyo Roki is most likely better. It is no longer available at the dealership. Probably part of a cost reduction.

Tokyo Roki was the original filter on our cars (-080 tall one....then the switch to the shorter -0100 due to the filter being too long and oil burning at the top of the filter cause it was too close to hot engine parts, now the cost reduction made in usa -9A Puralator....which is tall again)

After about 30 oil changes, the fumoto valve will pay for itself in washers alone! :lol:
