Hey all, new to the forums here. I currently own a 1995 Legacy L (bought used in 1997 with 30K miles) with all the goodies (only year they made a FWD legacy, boo). It's a great car with 118,000 miles and still going strong. Never had any major engine problems, just a few electrical issues and a new starter is all. I insisted to my wife when we were looking for a new family car that we look at subaru for their reliability. Needless to say she is now a subaru fan, however, our family quickly outgrew the Suburu line of vehicles (we leased a 2000 Forester for 3 years). When the lease was up, we needed something with more room, so we bought the next best thing, a 2003 Honda Odyssey. Love the thing even though I vowed never to own a Mini-van long ago (the wife always wins, damnit!) So now, I'm nearing my mid-life crisis and what do I see but the 2005 Legacy GT...WOW. I can't wait till the van is paid off and/or my 95 kicks the bucket (which it probably won't cause its a Subaru!). Anyhow, I'm envious of all you new Legacy GT owners. I will be one someday too. Let me know how you like them so I may live vicariously through you!

BTW, I got to test drive an Atlantic Blue GT with that funky auto sport shifter. Man was it fast, the sales guy let me floor it at a stop light on a backroad return to the dealership. I'm hooked.

I work with an Advertising Agency that represents a Subaru dealer, so I get to read all the trade magazines. I read last month that subaru is trying to move upscale to compete with BMW, Audi etc... Their first step in this direction is going to be a brand new full size 7 passenger SUV to be released in the Spring of '05 i believe. What do you all think of this? Is this a good thing for Subaru since they've always been known as a great car for a great price? Now they want to be a great car for a premium price. I suppose it was bound to happen someday. I just need to buy one soon before they exit my price range!
