So I figured that there would be some older folks here, I could tell because I hadn't seen any comments like sRt4ISfA$tAr and the general lack of bickering.

It's good that there is a slightly more "experienced" crowd looking at the legacy. It will help to keep my insurance down. Oh, and would insurance on a wagon be less than a sedan?

SUBE555

Likely Zevil on the insurance dealy.

Hey WAFlowers, na its all kool. My parents outage you by some 4 years or so, so you're still young. :D I know about that balding thing, I am doomed to it, both grandfathers have it and I know I will very likely end up with it. Keep the hair short and people don't notice the line recede is my theory. ;)

So how long do I have to wait to date your daughter.

56 guys. i must be the senior member here.

i drove an explorer for about 10 years, then needed a car - it's only 4wd for me with my driveway and ct weather and i'd also owned 2 subarus. discovered that the wrx's were coming (i'd read an article in car & driver once called "10 cars we'd like to import") and knew what it was. ordered one of the first off the boat, delivered april2 2002. when i needed another car about a year ago i gave my wrx wagon to my wife and got a wrx sedan. so now i've got 2.

Seth, it doesn't matter if both grandfathers were balding; the only one that matters is your maternal grandfather as MPB (Male Pattern Baldness) is inherited from your mother's side of the family.

And you have to wait a looong time to date my daughter as I wouldn't let anyone like you date her until I'm dead! j/k

It is killing me that she is dating a guy now. I keep imagining what I was like (and what I was trying to do) at that age! :(

4 Subarus in this family, 5 if you count my sisters BF car. :) Each family member owns one, we love AWD, what do I have to say.

As for the daughter thing, what do you mean, I'm a fine upstanding gentleman. Oh wait, doing the math....

At Uni, one of the guys in the Hockey Team was born on the 29th Feb. We managed to celebrate his 5th proper birthday whilst on tour one year. I think we managed to 4 years of partying into 1.

As for me i'm 32. At what age does having a Subaru Turbo classify you for a mid-life crisis. Or does that only happen to you when you buy a Porsche?

SUBE555

I think it classifies if you get a Porsche or a Z06. I guess a Ferrari or Lambo or Lotus or anything on that line would work too.

But if you have the need to have that big gun and the Subaru turbo fits your bill, we can call that a midlife crisis too. ;)

We definitely have an older, more mature demographic going here in comparison to NASIOC, in spite of the skewing that happens because it's on the internet. Man, I must be getting old... I am just turned 31. I never have really cared much how old I am, or anyone else for that matter. It is more about how a person carries themselves, i.e. their maturity. That is why I enjoy this board.

Hey, Sube555. I think you are a prime example (and others). Keep up the great contributions.

J.R.

P.S. You know they say that the memory is the second thing to go.

Memory, whats memory? :)) I think I lost that first. :P

Me and Jason L were just talking about the demographics around here, it is generally right around your age group for an average. In any case, I generally relate to people about 10 to 20 years greater than that of my youth.

I hope this place keeps growing with such overall enthusiasm, interest, and maturity. Hard to come by these days.

Do you notice how quiet the News & Rumors forum has gotten since most of us bailed on it to come here? The stickied Legacy thread is so dead you can practically hear the crickets chirp.

Upfront, I am a recent 32 (May 4th):

Yeah, I did a lot of stealth reading for a while and jumped on this board after spending a month on the NASIOC and a couple of weeks reading up here. It is a friendly board that is patient with an emerging newbee and long time Subaru admirer from afar.

My beautiful and godly wife of almost 2 years and I are expecting our first child. She has always appreciated a "spirited" car. I am looking for the best of all areas performance, safety, value, and fun. I think I have found it in the Legacy GT Ltd Wagon.

Good to get to know you all. Thanks for the welcome. God Bless.

J.R.

Welcome aboard. It seems that Legacy guys (are there any women here?) in general are a great bunch of people, no matter what forum you are on.

The wife and I will be looking at a GT LTD Wagon ourselves, once our '03 L-SE Wgn is paid for (in three years! :( ).

And, yeah, the late 20s-early 30s crowd seems heavily represented here. From what I can tell, young professionals that have started families are at the core of the Legacy audience, particularly the GT.

Congratulations!

Godly wives are such an incredible blessing... congrats there, too.

My wife and I were married just over 10 years ago. I know for certain that I will not live long enough years to appreciate her fully even if I were to live as long as Methuselah.

Interesting how many people posted responses but only 37 people bothered to respond to the poll (at the top of each page).

I wonder what that says? How about a poll as to whether people answer polls?

Haha, I believe this thread was started way in the beginning when this forum first emerged and then the poll was later put in maybe a few months ago. :)

I wonder what kind of deal you can dig up on either the 17x7 UK OEM wheels or 17x7.5" STi double-fives as seen on most international WRX STi's. Just looking at summer wheels for next year. ;)

Big 5-0 in November. D-1 26, D-2, 21, married 30 years. Godly wife who prays an awful lot for me when I'm out on the road or on the track. Yeah, I'll never live long enough to really appreciate her. We still date and do alot of stuff together - we're not "that" old.

T3F - yes she's single AND not dating right now. I have been blessed with two beautiful daughters (their mother had a lot to do with their good looks). D2 is in her senior year here in SD and would be graduating next spring (except the state cut the class offering so she has to take at least another semester just to get the classes she wants). She's got a wonderful sense of humor and was on the Dean's list last semester so she's got three things going for her: beauty, brains and wit. And OBTW - she has her own Subaru GT.

JM - No family pics for now. Hopefully we'll show up in the Drive Magazine with all five of the cars and the family if I can ever get all of the cars cleaned up and together in one place.
