Here's my utterly stock looking 1998 Legacy GT, with a few surprises under the hood.

Thumbs up to you!

I am rather interested as well. :)

The BD was my favorite style actually, the new one is rather good looking, but the BDs just had an aura about them to me, sort of like the GC RS's.

The green and silver were my two favorite looks. I may end up picking up a 99 Ltd down the road a little bit and doing a WRX swap in it.

So what really is under the hood of your GT?

Yes i agree the BD look nice from some angles - much better than the similar period WRX.

The thread does note Legacy GT Turbo, and it has a truly sleeper look, I really want to know whats hidden in that car!

Well, the biggest thing on this car is the turbo kit. It's a Forced Air Technologies kit (Stage I). The boost is pretty low right now, but I'm working on that as we speak. I'm about to put another engine that I have into it that I've been working on for a while. This other engine has Web cams, ported heads, and forged pistons.

There's a custom made 2.5" exhaust on it right now from the downpipe-back. I have a Borla header on there too. I like the sound. It's a low rumble, not an obnoxious buzz at all.

I have an Unorthodox Racing underdrive pulley on there, but I'm thinking about replacing that with a lightweight stock size. I don't like the fluctuations in electrical power.

I have the Hyper Grounding Wires on there. Hard to tell if they're actually doing anything. I don't have a ton of electrical components in here.

Have the Kartboy shifter w/ bushings in here. I highly recommend it.

I plan on keeping the exterior pretty much stock looking. I like the stock wheels and the overall body style. My only gripe is the silver lining on the grille, so I might do something about that.

What I'm trying to do is have a nice looking car. Not flashy or anything, just nice...

Update!

I will be selling this car soon, but I've done tons of work since
my last post. Here are some pictures.

Most notable difference is that the car is about 1" lower, due
to the H&R springs I installed.

Did this start life as an LGT or as an "L"? Can't tell but with the missing front foglights and what looks like an L rear bumper (again can't tell from the pics) it seems to be an L. Was the front end repainted? Since the bottom lip on the bumper seems to be bumper color and I don't see the flat black paint on the metal behind/below the front bumper itself.

I have two 98 LGTs, one Silver BD 5MT and one Black Ruby Pearl BD 4EAT. Both have less than 75,000 miles and barely feel like they're broken it yet. Yeah, I love the BDs. They need so little to be terrific mad power sleepers. Will probably keep one of them in the stable I like them that much.

Would be interested to hear what kind of power you'll be making on the reworked engine, especially since you'll likely be able to add more boost then you're currently running.

It is originally a GT, yes.

The body hasn't been touched, except to remove the
pin stripe (after the last pics), and debadging.

I took the fog lights out initially to put a oil cooling
system I designed in there (which uses both fog lamp
openings.) Then I was also considering a front-mount
intercooler.

Did you ever get all the engine stuff worked out? Any price range?

leondal

Yes all the engine issues are worked out and it is tuned, for the
most part.

I am looking for $8000 for it, and that includes all extras I have,
to include fiberglass grille, replacement intake pipes, a full
binder of documentation and all research I have done.

I also have the original springs.

Alright, I've posted it on EBAY. You can find it here.

Like I said, I am willing to negotiate a price, but there
is definitely a bottom line that I need to meet.

I will also accept partial trades, as well.
