Hi everybody, I'm from Melbourne Australia. I've been lurking around here for the last 4 weeks or so and this forum is very impressive.

I am well overdue for a new car, it's a 1988 Ford Telstar 2.0lt automatic with over 250,000 kms. Still runs ok but obviously power/handling...well everything is lacking. It was my first car and have had it for nearly 7 years.

I have been serious about a new car since moving 30km from work (previously 5km), reliability is of major importance. The new Subaru Liberty/Legacy looks the goods. I had 3 cars on my list: Mazda 6, Accord Euro and Liberty 2.5i (wish I could afford a GT :( )

I haven't test driven any yet (still saving money for purchase) but on looks alone the Liberty is prefered.

Looking forward to my first test drive, hopefully soon.

Yeah, glad you could join us. We have quite a few from Oz... great folks. And while the fire-breathing GT would be nice, the 2.5i is a very nice car in its own right.

agctr, I haven't been to Docklands yet, I plan to go there soon. I have been told that they have all the colours on display.

Mark

I went to dockland but wasn't happy with the service. The sale people were very arogant and would not even move on price. I ended up calling some of the country dealers. Ended up buying the car in Ballarat at Gardon Motors. Call Paul Banks or James Rinaldi. They were really good to deal with and gave me a reasonable discount.

Regards

John

For those of you on this side of the Pacific that's the equivilant of a Ford Contour.
