2 JL W6 10"
1 JL 1000/1 amp

should i get just one W6 10" with smaller amp???

Bass, man I like to keep my hearing at least until they perfect and make the replacement ears priceworthy. :D
Personally, I'm fine with not a whole lot more than the stock unit they had been putting under the seats. I thought someone actually made an aftermarket unit that could fit in the same spot. Maybe an Infinity Basslink or similar is more feasible. I'd rather keep my trunk space for bags though.

Depends what you want. I've had 2 Kicker Solobaric 10" and 4 JL 8W6's in my old Prelude. Both were good, but paled in comparison to a single 10W1 in a friends pickup. I can say that if installed right, one 10" is plenty and your looking at a little overkill on the amp IMO. Sedans are harder to set up properly because the trunk can act like a secondary box if the front waves of the subs going into the cabin aren't separated from the rest of the trunk. This was my problem.
Personally, I wouldn't want to add that much weight to a car just for subs. Would you really want to put that much weight into the trunk? The bigger the amp, the more weight. If you don't think that 1 10" is enough, look at a single 12".
For a sedan, I would like to do a single IDQ10 or 12 through the rear deck using aperiodic membrane (mesh and fiberglass insulation). This would be the lightest way since the trunk is the box. You would just have to seal up the trunk (no ski pass through if that's "standard"). to keep the back waves from interfering. Wagon would be easy. Build a fiberglass encloser that fits on top of the spare tire, and there is enough room to get a 12" sub I'm sure. Easy as that.

i dont know i was thinking abou getting 12" W7
but getting 2 10" W6 is cheaper or about the same $$$ as 1 12" W7
and say i get 2 W6s
should i get a JL 1000/1 amp
or get some 2 channel amp??

What about a single 12W6v2 or 12W6AE? It sounds like you have this imaginary money burning a hole in your pocket and just want to spend $XXXX regardless of what it is. If you look at JL's power chart, using the 1000/1 amp would clearly void the warrantee when 250-300 watts per sub is shown to be in the optimum range. So use a 500/1 with 2 subs or a 250/1 for a single. The 250/1 amp would probably be 1/3 the weight of the 1000/1. But if you want heavy subs like the W6v2, I doubt that weight is a concern. If your intent in getting the two 10's then do it, but at least don't overpower them.

i talk to this local stereo shop guy
and he said amp shouldn't be short on watts
2 W610"s put 600
and 500/1 will be 100 watts short
and he said that's bad for the subs or whatever
and i was giving him :| face
and he was trying to convince me by telling me how many years he's been working on stereo system blah blah blah
by the way i'm not gonna over power it at all
most i'll play upto 80% max..it'll be better if what you said works out cause i dont wanna spend $900 on amp
any other subs that sounds good that yall know??

The guy is full o crap, but he's just doing his job. Underpowered can be bad, but there is an optimum RANGE. Even if you're on the low end of the acceptable range, you're fine. I'd hate to be in the car audio business now that so many buy in online. It's gotta be hard to make a buck.
The ultimate that I hear about is the Image Dynamics IDMAX. I haven't checked on the price, but it's not going to be cheap. Probably similar to a 12W7 and as heavy as one as well. www.imagedynamicsusa.com I hear plenty of good things about the IDQ series, and the weight is much less (important to me).

^never heard about them
but cool subs http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com/website/products/idq_files/image004.jpg
but i dont know if i wanna get that brand cause i never heard of'em
i changed my mind cause of you :)
now kinda interested at W712 and one W610
one of my friend has W7 12 but the box basically fills up his whole trunk
and he drive cherokee...and he got his ear infected or something cause of bass
so i'll be checking out W6 10" with either 250/1 or 500/1
W6 has 400 watts
and i think 250 watt amp is too weak for it...

Really? Never heard of them? Back in the day, Image Dynamics and USD (from SpeakerWorks) were two of the major brands in serious competition probably because they were really innovators with the horn speakers, but also their subs.
What I like on the IDQ10 & 12 is the lower weight magnet but still great SQ, the tiny enclosures, and the low power needs. Nowhere else will you find a 12" that only takes. 0.6 cu. ft. OTOH, it isn't as efficient as the JL's. But, you can fit two IDQ10's in the space of one 10W6v2 for the same weight and give you +3db boost.
If you are looking at a W7, I would really say you should look around for reviews or opinions on W7 vs. IDMAX.
Since this interests me as well, I thought I'd check out prices.
10W7 $333 (lowest NEW ebay price)
12W7 $475 (lowest NEW ebay price)
IDQ10 $147 www.mmxpress.com 2x$110 ebay
IDQ12 $160 www.mmexpress.com
IDMAX 10" $255 (lowest NEW ebay price)
IMAX 12" $288 (lowest NEW ebay price) $125 used!
Now that it looks that the IDMAX 10" is out, that would be a sweet deal, and it would do just fine w/ a 500.1. Personally, I would maybe be swayed by a IDQ12 w/ 250.1

Buying it for an unreasonably low price of $80 would be the first clue. There are ebay stores that have built up good reputations that would be worth using. Being able to buy some equipment used on there really makes equipment affordable whether it's JL, ID, Diamond, or whatever.

i think its safer to pay extra $$$
and get a real JLs
than pay less $$$ for used or fake JLs

There are a good amount of subs that are better than a W7 and cost less. Those Image Dynamics ID10's are good. A friend of mine has three of those in his SUV and they are loud and sound awesome. Also, it never hurts to get too powerful of an amp. You can turn down the gain to get the amount of power you want, with less distortion. :D

I heard Eclipse makes good subwoofers where the bass actually sounds good, rather than just a speaker pushing tons of air to shake everything. I'll probably get one of those in 8" or 10".

ID's rock for price/performance ratio. As long as you aren't looking to break your neighbors windows when you roll into the hood that is. :D

You'd be surprised at how loud they get, and they don't seem to mind taking more power than they're rated. He's hitting 149 dB outlaw, the last time he got metered. It's crazy to get that loud from 3 10" subs. :D Then again, these are just ID's not IDQ's.
