I was just wondering if the stock speakers were like the stock WRX speakers (paper cone) or like the WRX upgraded speakers (polypropylene), or something different. I was satisfied with the upgraded WRX speakers, so if the Legacy speakers are the same, I'm thinking I'd be happy with those as well.

They're pretty punchy for stock speakers, so I'll wager a guess that they are polypropylene.

i would say they are too because other cars have the available option of the upgraded speakers, while the Leg does not. my guess is that the Leg comes stock with them.

I am very impressed with the legacy sound system in the US, I can take the volume all the way up and it still will sound good (I don't do it normally, just wanted to test the system.)

I've been fairly impressed, but I did notice some distortion when I turned it up and they were playing a techno beat around 50 Hz.

the answer is no. there is another thread going around that included pics of the stockers. they are not even coated paper, just plain paper.
