Just wondering if anyone knew if its possible to get these wheels in america yet, maybe some vendor can get them. I really love the way they look. Also does anyone know the specs on them, are they 18x7 or 18x7.5, and how much do they weight? Also how much do you think they will cost?
Thanks

I second the question/bump to the top.
Of all the wheels I have seen, incuding some schweet prodrives and bbs's, I would want the JDM 18's above all others. The person(s) that can bring these over/make them available to leggites is gonna have bling cha-ching.

The Spec B and BBS wheels shown with the Legacy are both 18x7". I know someone has imported a set of Spec B wheels personally, but I don't know of anyone selling them here.

Might they have anything similar in the US as it can be very expensive to ship things from Japan to the US at any time as Im sure Seth's friend will agree.

The GC-10's look similar but they cost $$$$$ 625.00 $$$$$ a wheel :)

The Rota Tarmac II is an option. It isn't the absolute lightest, but there are heavier. They are however rather inexpensive at $650 for 17x7.5" and $725 for 18x7.5" (which is 1/2 inch wider than Spec B wheels and allows for a MUCH greater tire selection within recommended fittment range as the 7" is a hair narrow for the populat 225/40R-18 size.) Lugs and center caps are a little bit extra. Still a bargain. I'm told the quality issues have been for the most part sorted out, and these shouldn't have the problems plagued by the lightweight models of a couple years ago.
Comparo of 17 to 18"

18x7.5" will fit, no rubbing, on an 05 legacy?

No problem. Others have tried. You're not adding much.
You're not adding much.
Except the range of tyres you can put on the new alloys

Coming from a WRX I know all about Rota's. I went through 3 sets before selling my WRX. All I have to say is Rota's are the only replica brand wheels I would ever buy, they are amazing quality, and the prices are imposible to beat. That said I don't want to go through 3 sets of wheels again (to expensive even at the low price per set). I would like to buy just one set of really nice wheels. Also I would perfer for them to be very light, lighter then stock, so forged wheels would be neccessary.
After a request from a.n.other I've got the price for the 18x7 spec B wheels from the JDM cars. Apparently the WR limited wheels and the specB are the same, bar the colour. The price from the dealer was 39,000 Yen per wheel. I don't know how much they weigh however, so you could be the same again in shipping :?
Part Numbers 21888AG090 and AG220, but I'm not sure which is the gold one and which is chrome.

For mine, Im not totally sold on the gold, this colour gold looks a little plastic for my liking then again it may look different LIVE.
Great investigation work MSB, well done.

The WR Limited impreza, they had in the showroom looked nice - could be a nice little runaround for the wife.

Im did some gazenta(ya know, 2 gazenta 4 twice, 4 gazenta 16 four times, etc) and 39000 yen is ~ $325.
Now, at the top of the page there is a silver leg with bbs-type wheels. What are those bad boys? Are they an option on the JDM's? Can we get a price on dem?

I looked them up once. I think conversion cost came to around $3-4k. OUCH! (Should use a LOT bigger font.)
Those are also 18x7". Limits tire choices by a BIG margin.

So SUBE, if I understnad correctly, 18x7 limits tire choices, and 18x7.5 gives lotsa choices? Is that right?

Yep, basically.
A 7inch wide tire, considering a 40 or 45 aspect ratio (sidewall height is 40% or 45% of the listed width in millimeters), can only fit a 205-215mm width tire (stock is 215/45-r17, so I doubt anyone would want NARROWER, except maybe snows.)
Adding a half an inch of wheel width (12.7mm), you get to choose between 215 and 225 width tires, So you have the choice of all the tires that come in stock size, 215/45, PLUS All the tires, and there are a lot more of them that come in the more popular sizes of 225/45 or 225/40(common for 18s, as 225/45-r18 series is getting much taller than stock diameter, which affects gearing and speedo on the Legacy.)
Not all tires come in all sizes. The more popular a size for OEM and aftermarket fitments, the more tires tend to be offered in that size. 225/45-(17 or 18's) such as Mustangs, Camaros, Vettes, Porsches, and most other sports/sporty cars with OEM or Aftermarket 17x8 or 18x8 wheels which are much more popular than 215/45-17 (stock Legacy GT 17x7 wheels)
If you go to 8 inch wide wheel, as just mentioned, you are pretty firmly in 225 width territory. You might be able to squeeze some 235/40s on there, but that is getting too wide for Legacy fitment (suspension and fender clearance becomes an issue), not to mention that it isn't as popular a tire size.

There are also chrome BBS wheels (17x7) available at Y361,620 a set.

Interesting MSB. I thought the 18" BBS was 7" wide. Not that it really makes it any more affordable. :P

For anyone that can read Japanese - from the STi brochure - I'll assume that the figure is not given as part of a disclaimer and is the actual size. although I don't know what the bit about the specB says.

No, that's clearly 18x7.5" wheels. I gladly stand corrected. Thanks MSB. :) Constructive criticism is good.
You going to get some then?
A rather expensive half an inch, or way to lose 8 kilos.

So are the Spec B 18" rims, 7 or 7.5" wide, I am going to guess 7.5". Also at 350 dollars a wheel thats a pretty good price, almost half as much as the GC-10's. Are the Spec B wheels forged as well?
thanks for all the info.

Last I recall seeing was 7", but as you can see, I could be wrong. I did search the JDM site for some time without a definite word on those. I'll keep searching.

I saw these at the local dealership in Germany. I have no idea about the specs but they are 18" by 8" and about $350.00 U.S. without tax. Now if we can get away with 8 inch tires I'm sure that would open up some choices. I also don't know if these would fit a U.S. model. I'll find out more once my car gets here in the next couple of days, then I'll do some measurements. Take care......

Hmm, those are pretty darn nice looking. Almost forgot about Speedline.
I'm sure they'd fit. Wide enough to make a good shoulder for 225/40R-18 rubber too, good for handling.
Can't imagine they'd be light though.
Last I recall seeing was 7", but as you can see, I could be wrong.
....but not in this instance....according to the owners manual, it is 18x7JJ.

For which wheel? From what I gather in this thread, the 10-spoke spec-B wheel is 18x7jj, but the BBS version, the grey mesh style wheel is advertized to be 18x7.5...
This is getting a tad bit confusing.

Yeah, it has gone off a bit in the wrong direction. Should have just kept the topic on the Spec B wheels.
So if anyone knows for sure what the Spec B wheels are, please let us know. So far someone thinks its 18x7, which kinda sucks, was hoping 18x7.5
SUBE555

That's what I am hoping for too, I just haven't seen evidence they are that wide. I'd love a set of Spec B wheels, but might have to settle for Rota Tarmac II's.
Re all the different wheels,
The original 10 spoke JDM specB wheels are 18x7JJ, they are 39,000Y each and available in chrome or gold.
There are also BBS wheels for the specB which are 18x7.5 (GunMetal and pictured in previous post from scan in catalogue) at 92,400Y.
Finally there are also chrome BBS wheels which are 17x7JJ which I have attached to this post at 361,620Y a set, which are for the 2.0GT etc as listed on the pic.
Surely it wasn't that confusing.

All sounds pretty good MSB. Are you running BBS rims or stock and do you think the rims would be cheaper or more expensive here in Oz than in Japan based on what you know?
I'm going to stick with my stock rims, I don't think I could justify the cost. As to Japan prices vs Oz, your guess would be as good as mine.

Like this? (http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/urltrurl?lp=ja_en&url=http%3A//www.subaru-sti.co.jp/parts/blbp_legacy/cat1.html)
Paste your URL into the textbox.
Highlight (select) the URL.
Click the URL button above the textbox window.
(note I am using { and } instead of [ and ] so this will display):
Change the {url} tag to {url= and then put a closing } tag at the end of the URL.
Put what link text you want to display (I used "Like this?") between the closing } of the {url} tag and the { of the {/url} tag.
Like so:
{url=http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/urltrurl?lp=ja_en&url=http%3A//www.subaru-sti.co.jp/parts/blbp_legacy/cat1.html}Like this?{/url}
(again using the { and } instead of [ and ] so it will display).
Enjoy!

MSB,
Are people in Japan fitting 225/40/18s on the 18X7 Spec B rims, and if so, have you heard of any problems anyone's experienced in doing so?
