New T-Shirt design contest.

So we're out of TShirts and it's time to design some more. I'd like to hold a contest to design the next shirt. Top prize will be $50 and either 'donating member' status here on the site or a free LegacyGT.com hat.

General Rules:
No more than 2-side, 2-color.
No use of Subaru trademarks and logos.
Attach entries here no later than August 1st.

I just find that its easier to work with this kind of design if you think in stickers. Whatever floats your boat though. :) We all do graphic design a little different I guess.

Its actually a car if you look closely. ;) You can make out the sunroof and windshield in the B and the scoop in the 4. I can make it more prounounced.

I like those. I would do without the tag line at the top. It would be great for a Subaru commercial, but not for LGT.com. An appropriate tagline for LGT.com would be "Bitch about it like it was given to you." :lol:

I think the design would be nice if you did a small LegacyGT.com logo on the right breast pocket area, and then had a large car like the above sketched on the back. This would keep it simple and something that everyone would like. (I'm not a fan of big pictures on the front of my t-shirt) But that's just me.

OC! very nice man!...i was trying to think of how to do something similar to that but just couldnt get anything on my mind to look good drawn out... I also wanted to incorportate something using our shift knob... but couldnt figure out an artistic way to bring that into the logo.

Maybe its ridiculous to suggest this from a standpoint of cost to the site, but, does it have to be confined to just ONE design. I would actually be inclined to buy 2 maybe even 3 t-shirts with different designs on them - some of these designs are really awesome.

I like OC's guage design on the pocket area. Make sure the red stays in the graphic. Leave the back clean though.

Since we obviously have a wagon sect, would anyone be willing to have wagon shirts made so Tide doesn't have to front with the costs? With his permission, you could list in the store and then handle all the logistics for shipping. Two designs would definitely sell more shirts, at least considering the interest generated from this thread. Just a thought.

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't buy one with a motto on it unless I felt the words reflected the forums. Mottos like "bitch about it like it was given to you" and "If it ain't broke then screw with it till it is" just don't seem like taglines that would sell a lot of shirts, but they would certianly reflect the forums a lot of the time. Either way... I would like a shirt with a clean graphic and the LGT.com words and that's about it. Trying to come up with a new advertising slogan for Subaru would make the shirt undesirable for me no matter how cool the graphic is. But that's just me.

If Tide isn't willing to get more than 1 design created, and that's understandable, concerning sales of the last shirt, we should pick a design that has the farthest reaching appeal.

A logo without slogans, simple and with the LegacyGT.com on it will work the best, IMHO.

I like both Ralli's and MrJaemz's designs. I say we put this to a vote! :D

I don't think anyone is being that bad. I personally like the shirt, but would like OutbackXT.com- that's why I remove dthe Lagecygt.com sticker form my car- people would ask "Do you have a legacy?". It's easier not to have to explain that it is a Legacy Outback.

How about we get all the other designs together and set up a t-shirt shop online using one of those "do-it-yourself" sites and donate all proceeds to legacygt.com. That way everyone wins. We all get shirts we like and the site stays alive.

I'd donate again- but to get people to do it, offer something that doesn't cost you anything- make their avatars bigger or even just a different font (not just color) for their username or signature. People love little "status" things like that. Or revive tikki... :D

I'm game for that and donating to tide, I can talk to my friend who ownes and shop that does this, she'll do it for me prob for cost.....if we really want to....if we really wanna get this off the ground...someone needs to Email me all the ideas, and I will keep them together.........SPREAD THE WORD....

i hate cafepress style shirts, sorry but I don't like the iron on looks. I'm having the shirts screened and if they turn out well, may make another design. as it stands I have 3 new products coming in within the next 2 weeks, plus need to work on next years calendar (though I think we sold only 20 of those).

That could work, if you want the responsibilty. I figured using an online store might be easier to organize payment and shipping, etc. Unless your friend's store is online, it could be a big hassle. Then again, screened shirts beats iron-ons anyday.

She can do it all, Screened, Embroidered, Iron on......that's all she does...on hats, T's, bags, chairs....you name it......
