Got to be one of the world's best car drives. Check out the 2 black Liberty's in the first photo amongst a gaggle of burbling WRX's.
And the Lambo out for a Sunday fang.

What's a fang? And why are you all driving on the wrong side of the road? :p

A fang is a blast which is a hoot which is a drive which is a burn....oz speak.
Ada....the club calendar suggests 18th Sept twilight cruise back down the GOR with an overnight stop...TBA.
Also on October 23 a new members' meet and greet BBQ.
The other real hoot is Targa Rex down in Tasmania over the Melbourne Cup long weekend. That's a wicked fang with lots of the actual Targa rally stages driven on.
I've done that....put the car on the boat Friday night and flat out driving all weekend. Try and do that. I think there are a few places left.

And why are you all driving on the wrong side of the road? :p
Because the steering wheel is on the right side.

So Rob, just let me get this right, you can actually drive flat-out on Targa Stages but not actually be in the race but apart of Targa REX? If this is the case, what insurance do you have to get/ do you have to do this?
If you dont know, I suppose I will approach the WRX Club OZ and find out.
Thanks for the heads up though.

Adam...tongue in cheek.
It's public roads so rules are in place as per normal.
The Targa stages are routes that are on normal roads except during the rally the roads are closed off to the public and the race cars use all the road both sides.
We call it Targa Rex because of the routes taken and the fantastic scenery and driver's roads that suit Subaru AWD perfectly. It's actually a social drive event taking in exciting parts of the isalnd.
A race day can be had at Baskerville where you do indeed hit the track. That's for the serious rev heads.
Some of those mountain passes are brilliant and especially the isolation of the east coast and its miles of nothing.
Go to the website and the whole itinerary is planned there. www.wrx.com.au (http://www.wrx.com.au)

Keep an eye on the cruise forums and events at www.wrx.com.au (http://www.wrx.com.au)
They take our cars as members because we are Subaru turbos. We have quite a few Gt's in the club.
