More pics are welcome.

I think we have to get the NAV pkg to get this "gauge screen" when the NAV is in the OFF mode...I will be getting the NAV then...whatever it takes to get that great BOOST display (one of the three displays of info)!!!

I would also welcome the setup as an option at least. The Skylines actually had a bit more function in their similar setup IIRC as they had like G-forces and a whole load of things you could look at. It looked pretty sick for a stock setup. I think that was on at least the R34 GTR, but possibly earlier too.

The Mac looks nice, but I wonder if we can get a nice 4-gauge cluster in that spot where the DVD/Nav system is in.

3 gauge cluster should be able to be bought.

I'm just wanting them hidden or semi-hidden. Close that little door on the dash and walla, they're gone. :D

Maybe an LCD panel of virtual gauges could be better. Would be best if you could overlook a whole host of gauge info. Hmm.

ha-evolution
01-19-2004, 09:37 AM
I prefer the non-cluttered look also. It's one thing to have a bunch of gauges sitting on the dash if you have a WRX but they wouldn't quite fit in with the luxo Legacy.

SUBE555

And thats why something in that cubbyhole would be perfect. :)

There are so many possibilities with that little cubby in the dash. I think that the NAV option will cost around $2000 if it's offered. I am guessing, but that's what I remember as pricing on some other manufacture's NAV options. Whatever is put in there it needs to be slick, stealthy and classy. I do hope that they have an option for NAV perhaps. Or maybe even a "digital guage pack" for us that want the slick little display unit but don't want to pay for a full fledged NAV system.

I just noticed that this looks different from other McIntosh pictures I've seen. All of the others had that bad brushed metal look that clashed with the rest of the console. Now I need to look for the old pictures.

USDM STi buffs, is 375mm the size of the US STi wheel? Lafite, how about a picture of your gauges with the engine turned off? I was wondering if they are all black like the STi Impreza or still show the markings but not lit up.

Lafite, what features does your clock have? I noticed one picture it said E/T (what's that? estimated time?) and the other Dist? (not sure on that..)

MSB
02-09-2004, 11:21 PM
The E/T is elapsed time, or the time since you turned the key in the ignition. Dist, is actually DISP (button on bottom left), this is used to go through the functions on the display.

Off the top of my head, they are External Temperature, E/T, average fuel consumption, current fuel consumption, distance before refuel. I think thats' about it, I keep mine on temp as the fuel consumption can get a bit depressing driving round a city in an auto.

What do you mean by B4, B4 was termed as the Sedan models for all (not just turbo models) BE chassis and the new BL chassis sedan models?

Well, I was just going by the "B4" in those pics...

But let me rephrase... are the US seats the same as those in the pics above?

Yes, that's a lovely color combo. Or, RB with taupe would be hot too...

But not for me... I'm getting a GT... no leather. Also, with a 2-yr-old, dark colors are a must. :)

A more likely scenario is probably sticky candy, messy food, staining drinks, etc. dirtying up that pretty leather.

Well... My daugther is almost 3 and I'm concidering Regal Blue Pearl with taupe leather...
The only problem that I had with beige leather in Infiniti that I had was some dirt marks from her shoes. It wasn't that hard to clean. So I'll take the risk.

racerdave
04-18-2004, 04:25 PM
yeah, what ha said is what I'm more concerned about. That said, leather cleans up pretty easy.

However, one of my son's favorite beverages is well-diluted purple grape juice. I've found dried up stick patches in my wife's Volvo V70, which has a graphite interior (not quite black). It's cleaned up well, but I'd hate to put taupe to that test.

dimil
04-18-2004, 04:41 PM
I see now, the only drink in the car for her is water and orange juice, and the little chocolate (twice a year) is easy to clean.

Definitely skipping the Taupe leather. What a PITA to keep clean. Especially all the shoe scuff marks low on the door and lower door sill. The charcoal should hide the "Ooops's" quite a bit easier.
