I'll be dynoing the car on the 11th, to see what Stage 1 is putting down here in AZ. I'll keep you guys posted.

Sounds good! Where are you getting it dyno'd at?

Cant wait to see what it does, curious to know how hot it is when you do it as well. Is the cobb stage 1 all you have done as far as engine mods?

I'll be dynoing at azdynochip, the only mods I have are the AVO panel filter, and I have the exhaust siliencer cutout along with some magnaflow mufflers. I can feel a difference, so I am pretty sure I have picked up some power :) heh. I am just curious to see if it is line with what most people are getting. I am hoping to get there a 1/2 hour early to let the car cool down a bit.

Do us a favor and get dyno it with/without the AP. Also, make sure to get an A/F printout and log the boost as well.

Can you switch to a real time map back to base???

Well guys, I dyno'd the car today, I don't have the sheets here (I am at my wife's parents house). Anyway, I switched to the base map. My car was pinning a bit in the 4th gear run, and in the 3rd gear run I had to stop at around 4k rpm since it was pinging so bad. After 3500 rpm the dyno looks weird, the A/F ratio drops off the chart below 10. So I don't know how low it went. Anyway, I switched to base and they only heard the car ping once. Which the car hasn't had a chance to relearn. I am going to call Cobb on Monday to fill them in. I know our 91 gas compare to everywhere else sucks according to some people I have talked to. I'll keep you guys posted and I will post the dyno runs later.

Thats not right. Which map are you using? Did you give it time to adjust?

I was running stage 1 91 oct, and I put over 1000 miles on the car before I went and dyno'd sheets are to follow ...

Okay, this first dyno, is stage 1, in 4th gear .. I had to split the graphs into two, since I can't get the A/F to show up on the same dyno. Also, to make sure, I did a "display current Map" thing and it said stage 1 91 oct.

3rd Gear Stage 1 Tq/Hp On this run, I had to shut it down just after 3500 RPM since it was pinging so bad ....

Base Map 4th Gear HP/TQ now, the car hasn't had a chance to drive 100 miles + on this map.

Same, with AF and HP, the interesting thing here, around 5000-5500 RPM you can see the A/F start to lean out a bit. It also looks like the car is close to stock numbers.

Now I am not bashing Cobb or anything at all ... but these graphs just seem "odd" not very smooth at all. I wil talk to Cobb on Monday and chat with them about it. I will keep you guys posted ... the interesting thing, is just before 3500 RPM, you will notice a pretty big drop on all the graphs ... hmm.

Forgive me, I don't know how to read a dyno chart that well...but is that saying that your car, loaded w/ a stage 1 only produced about 206 max hp?

That is correct, that is to the wheels ... so it hasn't been corrected for drivetrain loss and etc.

The setting on the dyno is partly to blame. The smoothing is set to 0, if it were set to 5, it would take out alot of the noise, so to speak.

The runs look a little off, in that the hp drops of after 5000 rpm's, but it seems to do it on both stock and AP.

But the delta changes between the 2 still seems low, but that could be due to the ECU pulling timing, from picking up detonation?

How does the car feel on the road?

Car feels fine on the road ...I'll put the smoothing to 5 .. and sent the dyno's off to Trey tomorrow morning.

If it's only receiving 206 hp, then why does Cobb put it at 290 hp? And the stage three is 305 hp...does it really get it all?

You have to remember that these are wheel hp figures, so they are going to read lower than crank hp's. Which is what Cobb quotes. Every dyno is different, but we have had enough lgt's dynoed on various ones, to establish a generally accepted avg. It seems to be 175-210whp.

Plus this particular dyno run encountered some pinging, which would result in a low reading because the ECU pulled timing and dumped fuel to protect the engine. I'm sure once this gets straightened out that the car will be putting out the expected power. I have a feeling that this might have been bad gas?

Hmmm I wonder ... or it could be that Arizona Gas just sucks. :) Or Coscto sucks :) I will call Cobb tomorrow ... doh!

Check out I-Speeds graph/tune on the new Legacy GT.

I have yet to hear any detonation while driving the car.
