what would win in a race a wrx or a legacy 2.5 T 1/4 mile stck vs. stock.

Legacy baby.. it's lighter, more powerful, and will probably handle better stock for stock due to bigger wheels and the lighter weight.

That's why my WRX is gone and the Legacy is going to be in my garage!

With the WRX being 3085lbs or 3165lbs for the wagon, the Legacy will probably be a tad heavier than the wagon. However, that torque and hp will help smoke the WRX like Cheech huffing on a blunt.

Yep i'd say the GT would easily out accelerate a WRX.

Around some tracks the GT is on par or better than the USDM WRX Sti

What about a manual WRX and a auto Legacy

from a roll or off the line? Maybe a WRX from the line if you are being hard on it. Legacy from a roll.

Legacy with the torque should take it one way or the other. The Auto FXT was supposed to be faster than the manual WRX! Now I don't have specific numbers, but once boost builds, the Leg should be gone lickety split.

After riding in my buddy's STi the other night, I think I'd still rather have that than the new Legacy unless that blows me away on first impression. Besides, for racing. I know the Legacy would be a bit lighter and more of a sleeper, but the parts catalog for the STi will be a bit bigger still. Can't beat the Brembos or 6MT too.

So you're going back to liking the STi more, eh? I've figured that will end up being your choice if you can swing it.

I'm on the fence. Spending another couple-hundred miles in one the other night shows how tantylizing one really is, they both have their high points.

I think that if someone wants what an STi does, a Legacy isn't going to ever satisfy them. They are very different cars, I think. The Legacy will just never have that hard performance edge that an STi does.

My selling point on the Legacy is the stealth aspect. Unsuspecting until you get into it.

The talk is the Legacy GT will do 0-60 in about 5.5 seconds.

Whats the numbers for the WRX STi ?
Edmonds seems to state 5.8

STI should be in the 4.9 to 5.3 range for 0 to 60 times. This is the range I have seen from about 6 different testing articles from various car magazines. The STI seems to be right in that 5 second zero to sixty time, and that is very fast for a $30,000 dollar car...heck if the Legacy really hits 0 to 60 in 5.5 seconds for the 5 spd MT, I will really be impressed!

A silver/silver STi with no wing can be just as stealth especially with a FMIC and RS hood (or painted CF). Just get the STi. You'll be happiest with it I think.

What is the 0-60 time on a auto legacy.

Are you talking to me Preston. :P

We'll see how they handle and how the rest of it feels and what kinds of features and options you can get. Penny for penny, either would likely fit my bill. The sleeperness really is priceless, but the knowing its a racecar is a whole other thing too. So torn! We'll just have to see how testdrives go and total up my estimates for what I would add to get it to my desired status.
