I wanted to post this yesterday when I got the car, but I was too busy driving.
When I saw her first she had 17 miles on it.
The good:
Everyone in my family loves the car.
The bad:
It's very hard to keep it under 4k.
And the ugly:
What did I think getting an auto .
Verdict: :D

Hey do not feel guilty about getting the automatic! I am in the same boat as you, I spend some serious time in traffic (NYC metro area) and dont have the patience to deal with a manual for an everyday car. Plus after driving the automatic, I feel as though I am making less of a sacrifice. Its a nice transmission- in order to get a 5 speed sport shift transmission in a Honda you need to get the TL.

That is a question for Opie (since he works with the cars at the plant) or someone else that toured the Subaru USA plant. Is the 17 miles on the cars taken at deliver the time that the car spends on the dyno the minute it rolls off the assembly line. I think I heard that they take the new car and run it up to 100mph. It wouldn't take long to hit 17 miles on the Odometer running it through its paces. Anyone know for sure?

I know it had 17 miles when I testdrove it before taking delivery (it was sold order - so no other customers did that). Local tech might have testdrove it before me.
Average fuel milage was about 8 miles per galon, so the car did get fairly hard run before.
Since late afternoon yesterday I already have 130+ miles on it mostly from local driving(no highway), just couldn't stay at home.

Great pics. Shows off the frameless doors very well. I ordered mine a week ago, RB but charcoal interior. I like it that this is the only color that you can't get on the Outback. Makes it even more special.

FWIW - I test drove a SWP GT Wagon with only 8 miles on it and a RB GT Sedan with 11 miles on it. The tech says he usually gets them with 3-4 miles on them, off the train/trucks to the holding areas and then whatever dealer PDI drives adds a few more. so I guess the differences would be how big a circuit the dealer tech does for PDI and how far Subaru has to actually "drive" the vehicle once it gets it to/off its transport system
