I think that my car's all wheel drive system generates a noise at the first acceleration everytime after starting the engine. I do not notice the noise during subsequent acceleration and deceleration when the engine is in running status.

i stopped next to a '10 forrester the other night and gave him the thumbs up, but he said. " im very dissappointed, the car rattles, ITS ONLY GOT 490 MILES!! ive taken it to the dealer 3 times and they cant find whats worng with it!"
but there a thread somewhere her that may help with the rattling.
mine has nothing that rattles, but when i turn sharp and accelerate, i do hear the center diff working, that might be what you are hearing when you accelrate.

sorry to hear that, no rattle noise on mine so far.... got 1k miles on it.
but curious if you are having loose driver side seat issue? noticeable especially when going over speed bumps

I don't have any yet but one of the other cars I test drove had a nasty buzz under the dash to the left of the steering column.

thank you pay attention to my post. i went bk to the dealer again a couple days ago. they told me the noise is come from the power steering system. the noise travel through the steering wheel , that's why i am hearing that. it goes off when i turn the wheel in full. they ordered the parts, i think it could be fix in couple weeks.
the 20k sound turn out is the ABS self checking .

From the owners manual:
NOTE Right after the engine has been started and before it has warmed up, you may hear a noise coming from areas adja- cent to the power steering pump which is located at the right-front area of the engine compartment. This noise is normal. It does not indicate power steering system trouble
Does the noise subside after the car warms up?

Is this noise coming from the ABS self checking?

Is this noise coming from the ABS self checking?
i think so.. if the noise is sounds like lock the door... when the speed reach to 20 km/h
