i dont know why Subaru has to have "amber" in USDM headlights when JDM headlights don't have it
who here will buy JDM lights
or cook it in the oven modification?

I think clear corners are illegal in some states, I know people in California get ticketed for it.

Really? They really have to crack down hard on people in the land of the ricer. I would definitely cook 'em. No need wasting money on JDM lamps as the beam pattern would be messed up anyway.

This is not Subaru's choice to have "amber" in USDM headlights. If you think about it and look around you, all Japanese as well as European cars comes with that as well. This is the norm "standard yard stick" for cars outside North America to be able to distinguish between a head/side light from a turning light. Same applies for the tail lights. It will be easier for someone following a car to be able to distinguish the difference at night.

It was mentioned elsewhere that people suspected that some of the "official" photos from other countries had a bit of photoshop to them. Not saying this is the case here, but this can be remedied I think.

Reading down I was hoping someone would make the point Dr. Zevil did. The difference between official and show/street photos has been a big difference. Same deal with the lower bumper center vertical beam. You can't see it in the JDM photos, but its there, look at some of the cars on the street, its visible.

As I've said in other threads, its all about marketing and doing everything possible to get people to come in and at the very least check the cars out. Not giving people a reason to look aside is verymuch to their benefit. Their side of the story' the lighting was different' or something on that side of the issue. But we all know the truth or should.

As for the amber corners, I'm really not a fan, and will have probably end up with the baked treatment. However, I have noticed a few cars which I thought didn't have the ambers. How do cars with the factory altezzas like the EVO and Lexus cars get away without the amber in the rear at least? I don't have any issues with a good amber bulb which does the same thing essentially, the amber plastic housing is sort of out of place though.

what most people dont realize, cars like evo, lexus, etc can get away with clears in the rear is the altezza taillamps have the red reflectors in them. therefore, either the taillights are on or off, they still reflect red. As for front end clear corners, some cars decide to use amber within their headlamp housing(ex. legacy), other manufactures keep their housings clear BUT....the attach an amber reflector somewhere on the bumper. The all new Lexus RX330 w/ the all clear tail lights....yea, look closer and you'll notice near the lower bumper has 2 symetrical red reflectors. thats how companies "get away" with it. mystery solved you're welcome

The image of the JDM GT above is acurate.

I have the 2.0R photos attached. No photochopping. This is from the first day I got her.

Haha that was an extra option. Custom ordered from vegas. The neon lights+fibre optics go in next week (or as soon as I find the box I stored them in when I moved).
