Bad crank at 120k miles requires a new motor:mad:.
The car is a 2002 Legacy GT which has an EJ251 motor. The EJ253 has only 35k mles and from what I was able to determine it has a Mass Airflow Sensor(MAF) while the EJ251 has a Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor.
My mechanic figures that means he would have to switch the throttle body and possibly the intake system from the EJ251 over to that motor. The Legacy EJ251 motor was built in the USA while the Forrester EJ253 motor was built in Japan but no indication thats a problem.
Any comments, refrences, or experience from forum members would be greatly appreciated.
