Anybody In Japan that can talk to Accessory.subaru.co.jp for us re the double din face plate for aftermarket radio head unit fitting please? Specifically, will their part no H6217AG9025C Aircon controller work on an Australian market 05 Outback 5MT 2.5i?

Go directly to AVO, do not pass go, etc., etc. ;)

Since you actually have the JDM cars (or at least VERY close to JDM cars) in Oz, it'd really be a nasty surprise if it didn't work, but when anything crosses borders there are no guarantees.

Sorry if that is not what you wanted to hear, but sometimes reality bites;)

Paul, I have now found a local installer who knows about the Subie connectors and aerial, so I will see how far I can get with them in terms of connecting an MP3 capable changer properly, or via an FM modulator. If that isnt satisfactory, I will return to this issue. If somebody comes up with a definitive positive answer here, it would be very tempting...
