It has a HD tuner built in...plus it has HDMI inputs. Which is your standard out put on HD sets. Or RGB which this also has. If you read closely in reviews on the tv

I used to have my Comcast HD box hooked up to it believe me its nice.

I can plug it all up and take a picture of a hd movie or something if you want?

Let's clear this up. This TV is not HD in the sense it has a maximum resolution of 480P, which is considered ED, enhanced definition.

This TV does, however, display all high definition images from any HD source: cable, satellite, bult-in tuner, BluRay, ect. It can accept images on HDMI, and component video with incoming resolutions of 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i. The picture will be converted to the TV's native resolution of 480P automatically. HD programming still looks better than standard programming, even on an ED TV. Hope that helps.

Right, EDTV not HDTV.

Sorry, getting educated on the latest and greatest TVs. Is there something about EDTV that makes it better than an HDTV?

A new Samsung 42" 720p Plasma HDTV PN42A400 is going for $700 nowadays. On paper, it would seem better since it has a resolution of 1024x768 versus 852x480. Just wondering why this one seems to be more expensive new still, and wondering if it is a case of the megapixel race digital cameras went thru, where photo quality isn't just about how big the image is.

That and a free bump, hehe.

Will this wall-mount unit work with all Samsung LCD/Plasma TVs? Bought a 42" HDTV and would seriously like to mount it on a wall. Would you be interested in selling just the wall mount?

LGTONCOKE

depends on how much you thinkin about giving me.

the wall mount was 450 plus tax when I bought it. Give me a number

Wow - that's more than half (more like 2/3) what I just paid for the new 42" HDTV... Let me think on it. All the hardware included to mount it up?
